True Professional Web Services
The services we offer include website creation, makeovers and improvements, reliable and timely updates, training, and additional technical assistance.
Unlike many breeders who offer web development services on the side, we are full-time professional web developers and internet consultants who have been making our living solely in this way for more than 10 years. It is not our sideline or our hobby, and we will still be in business 10 years from now. We will not get involved in something else, or get tired of this, and disappear on you. We also bring a level of long-term courteous and helpful professionalism to all our dealings with you.
Some of the business websites we have worked on include the Washington Post Company and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, among many, many others. Samples of some of the business sites we've done are linked off of our own business website, Prince Virtual Communications. Because we love cats and would like to see them better represented to the public through attractive and effective websites, we have begun offering web services to breeders at a reduced rate from the considerably more pricey one that we charge big businesses.
There are some major differences between the work of a professional web designer and an amateur, occasional, or partly trained "web designer."
Some of the hallmarks of true professional design are:
- Ability to emphasize the pictures of the animals, rather than distracting or unnecessary graphics.
- Lack of gratutious animations, browser-crashing cursor images, and other "cutsey" gimmicks or fads (these generally detract from the purpose of the site and slow the page load time without bringing any value to the site).
- A level of complexity that is based on your needs and desires, not on what we think is cool. If you have a desire or need for java slideshows, that's fine---but we don't try to sell you something just because we can do it and want to charge you for it.
- Truly custom site designs. We never do one site that is almost identical to another because each customer and each cattery is different and needs a site that presents their own unique image to the public. Cookie-cutter sites or cookie-cutter graphics are a sure sign of amateur design.
- Cross-browser design. Your site will look good no matter what type of computer or web browser your visitors use, and it won't make them angry at you because it crashed their computer.
- Flexibility. Our sites are designed with possible expansion in mind so that later, if you want to add to your site, you will not have to start all over again with a new design and at a from-scratch cost.
We invite you to compare our work with those of amateur and part-time "designers". You can see some of our work by clicking on the link in the "Client" column in the table below.
